Petrified Timber adds a full petrified oak woodset and other related goodies!

The mod contains advancements if you want to discover the mod's features in the game. Otherwise, see below for a description of all the features.
Features
Petrification

To get started with the mod, you'll need to petrify some wood. First, melt resin into a cauldron by putting a resin block next to a heat source with pointed dripstone and a cauldron under it. Once the resin melts, dip oak logs, wood, or planks in the resin. Next, bury the resin-covered wood underground, making sure each block is covered on all sides and has at least one adjacent dirt or stone. Over the course of a few days, the wood will become petrified.
Melted resin can also be put into bottles for storage.
Petrified Oak Woodset

Once you've got petrified planks and logs, all of the remaining woodset blocks can be crafted the normal way. Additionally, all blocks can be crafted from planks or stripped logs in a stonecutter, meaning you finally have affordable wooden stairs!
Petrified oak looks similar to pre-texture update oak. Due to being made of stone, it has some funky properties, such as requiring a pickaxe to mine, not burning, being unstrippable, and not being able to craft logs into planks or wood. Also, petrified oak signs are 1.5x the size of normal signs like in Minecraft Classic/Infdev.
Swamp Bushes

Underwater in swamps you can occasionally find petrified bushes made from petrified leaves and logs.
Petrified leaves do not decay and require a pickaxe to mine, and if mined without silk touch they break apart into individual leaf items which must be crafted back together into leaf blocks. They also do not drop saplings.
Rarely, one will have a petrified apple. Petrified apples are inedible but can be stacked up to 4 in a block (like candles/sea pickles) and can be dyed all 16 colors.
Petrified Trees

A petrified apple can be crafted into four petrified oak seeds. Petrified oak seeds only grow on hydrated farmland and cannot be bonemealed. Seeds grow into petrified oak saplings, which can be bonemealed to grow into petrified trees, but only naturally grow into trees when planted on hydrated farmland. Petrified oak seeds can also be planted in a flowerpot.

If planted in specific biomes, the tree will grow in the shape and color of that biome's tree, creating special variants of logs and leaves. They also grow with apples which can be used to grow more trees.
Petrified Forest/Plains

Very rarely, mushroom islands will contain petrified forests and/or plains. These rare biomes resemble the appearance of Minecraft Alpha worlds. They also have several exclusive blocks: A variant of cobblestone called Stacked Rocks, its mossy variant, and red, yellow, and cyan petrified flowers. The biome has no tallgrass and only spawns pigs.

Has compat with RRV for petrification & resin covering recipes.
Future Plans
There are more plans for petrified biome content, including more flowers, structures, and a unique pig variant.
