Extra Loader
Overview
Extra Loader automatically detects and loads additional resource packs and data packs from external directories.
These packs are not force-enabled — they simply appear in the in-game Resource Pack and Data Pack lists, allowing players to enable or disable them freely.
How It Works
The mod automatically scans version-specific folders based on the currently running Minecraft version:
Resource Packs: C:\Users[Username].extraloader[GameVersion]\resourcepacks\
Data Packs: C:\Users[Username].extraloader[GameVersion]\datapacks\
Where:
[Username] is your system user name
[GameVersion] matches the launched Minecraft version (e.g. 1.12.2, 1.16.5, 1.20.1)
Each Minecraft version uses its own independent directory, preventing conflicts between versions.
Design Goal
Extra Loader is designed to make it easy to use unpacked (non-zip) resource packs.
With this mod, you can:
Maintain a single set of resource packs per Minecraft version
Reuse them across multiple modpacks
Avoid repeatedly copying resource packs into each modpack’s folder
This is especially useful for developers, artists, and players who frequently test or iterate on resource packs.
